Psoas9 and epidural spinal abscesses2, 6 have been described as relatively rare conditions. The incidence of epidural spinal abscess, however, has doubled in the recent two decades, reaching 1 in 10000 hospital admissions8. Early diagnosis and management of these two pathologies, especially when presenting with insidious and vague symptoms, require a high degree of suspicion.
